Deciding what colour to paint a space can be a very difficult decision. It's actually quite a committment.

It took me months to decide what colour to paint my house. In fact, I was so confused and worried about choosing the wrong colour, it almost paralyzed me from making a decision at all. What I thought looked good in one room, didn't look good in another. And when you're dealing with an open floor plan, you have to pick a colour that works in all areas.

What if you paint the entire space and you love how it looks in the early part of the day, then decide toward the end of the day you don't like it because of how the sun or shade hits it? It could look creamy grey in the evening, but in the bright morning sun, it looks green or blue. It may look like a perfect match to the other elements in the space at one part of the day, but be a major contrast at another part of the day.

So just what is the best way to choose the right paint colour?

This week I'll give you a few tips to help you decide what colour to paint your space so you can avoid all this confusion. Home decor is supposed to be fun; making things look PRETTY and STYLISH. So don't let your confusion paralyze you from deciding what colour to go with the next time you paint a space in your home.

Happy painting and HAPPY DECORATING!
